TopJLax's "Bro's" & "No's" of the week 11/03/2010

TopJLax's bro's and no's is back with a look at some of the topical stories in the news this week. Something tells us that we've missed the biggest news and concentrated on some inconsequential matters that probably don't affect most people. But hey it annoyed or tickled us!

Bro!!
Here at TopJLax we're a big buyer of anything American. Maybe that's going a little far because there always exceptions, but shipping NFL games over to the UK and hosting them at Wembley definitely falls under the "bro" category. Whilst we weren't lucky enough to be in the stadium, we did put the game up on the 100 inch blue ray projector, make a bonfire sized plate of tasty nacho's complete with guacamole and salsa and an entired grated block of cheese, and enjoyed the game in the comfort of our own home with our teammates. So 3 quarters were boring? Who cares the event was awesome...

No bro!!!
So we understand that when you want to make a point drastic action needs to be taken, but when it inflicts serious confusion and problems on the general public that is just not cool. So Mr Tube Man, why so many strikes lately? It's just so damn inconveniet,...you can't get anywhere, the roads are rammed, it's impossible to get taxis, and we can't even cry off work, we just get shouted at for not leaving early enough and taking it into account.
Oh and don't get us started on the Firemen striking on bonfire night, that's just irresponsible..

Everyone knows the feeling of opening your lacrosse bag on game day and suddenly releasing the smell of a dead wet dog, and the sight of all your lacrosse gear damp, muddy and molding, buried underneath what used to be a lacrosse stick and is now a rock hard spoon. That's right, try not to get drunk too many times after your games and forget about the kit in your bag, especially now the days of sunny, dry, non dirty lax are long behind.
What we've discovered this week is that washing machines, can not only cope with jerseys and shorts, (fairly obvious), but if you put cleats/gloves and pads in there, and treat them gently, then they also come out sparkling and new looking so you can maintain your extreme flow for the next game. Or at least for the first quarter.

All nighter at Alexandra Palace, sponsored by Lynx, with loads of big name dj's and acts and laser lights and big screens? Yes please,...we are totally up for that. However suprisingly the most bro thing about the whole event? The fairground rides and dodgems. Never since our young years have we enjoyed bumping into our fellow drivers, high fiving onlookers, and furiously trying to keep our hands in the air for an entire fairground ride. So the fact that we'd had a few too many helped? Yeah of course...

The fair-ground rides had unacceptable G-Forces...
