We're back! Apologies about the absence, but we're here with a little look at a few things that have tickled us recently or annoyed us along the way. This week there is a little bit of technology, and a lot of sport related banter. Hell we are a sports based website after all right?!

No!!!

Despite how much I am beginning to love these devices the blackberry is unfortunately going to have to fall in as a "No" this week. Sure, they're incredibly functional and useful, and in BBM they truly have a product that is so easy to use, cheap, free and amazingly simple that it really is worth the price of admission on its own. Who'd have thought 20 years ago that we'd be chatting in real time to mates on the other side of the planet for a fractional cost? Despite all that,... humans are meant to interact verbally and in person, and these little devices are so addictive it's turning us into anti-social technology geeks. No bro.

As if we don't have enough football to entertain us at the weekend, what with 12.45pm and 5pm live games, MoTD and then your Sunday lunch time and tea-time games, this year the Premier League have seen fit to re-launch "Monday Night Football". What better way to ease into the working week, than with just a day to get through before more Premi

So everyone knows there is a huge gaping hole in our life where there really should be an NCAA College Lacrosse 2011 game that can fill our lives... but unfortunately the guys at EA Sports seem yet to have switched onto that idea. Luckily for us there is a plethora of alternative American Sports games that can somewhat fill the void to a certain degree.

Our particular favourite currently in the Gamma Gamma Frat House is the latest in the series of the Madden NFL games - Madden 2011. We tried NHL and NBA, and whilst both are entertaining, nothing beats the helmet crunching, pump-up, hail mary plays that you can do via Madden. Best played 2 v 2, with one as quarterback and the other as running back/wide receiver... mix it up and drive 78 yards in 38 seconds to score a last second touchdown pass  on third down to win the game. We dare you. Then high five and woop - a lot.

If you haven't been keeping abreast of the latest football news then you won't have heard about Mike Ashley, the owner of Newcastle United F.C. who this week finally tipped the weight of public opinion against him by sacking Chris Houghton, the former manager. Chris had taken charge of the beleaguered outfit after relegation to the Championship, and as caretaker manager swiftly guided them back into the Premiership. Once named as full manager he had guided them to their current position of 8th in the table with wins over Arsenal and a draw at Chelsea under their belt. Not bad? Well obviously not good enough,... but at least they have Alan Pardwho? as manager now... on a 5+ year contract. Ouch, that's gotta hurt.

As ever do feel free to agree or disagree with any of the above mentioned suggestions. It is after all a free world.
