Is it just us, or is Liquid the most amazing music to listen to in Summer? Coach Dave's posts will keep you beer ponging until the early hours, but hopefully you'll turn to these when faced with a chilled night out in the garden with a beer or 4, a shed load of meat for the barbecue and a bunch of your mates. Or if you're like us sporadically want to put a smile on your face. Or if you're doing a spot of sunrise surfing and catching the early morning swell, with just the ocean, a pain au chocolat and an empty break in front of you. Either way, we've done some digging and here are some of the most beautiful tunes we could find. Enjoy (and let us know if we're missing some!).
Netsky - Let's Leave Tomorrow (feat. Bev Lee Harling)
So here we are posting another Netsky tune again...
This tune has a beautiful vibe to it, and the vocals are amazingly peaceful. Not to mention that this video is beautifully put together - so take a couple of minutes out, take yourself away to a sunnier place and appreciate.
Rameses B - New Horizons
Wow. Apparently this is Rameses B's first ever try at a Liquid song. We don't think that means it's easy to make - it's probably because this bloke seems very very talented (his electro and progressive house efforts were outstanding). It takes a really cool sample from 'Jacob's Ladder', a cult film from the 90's - now on our 'to watch' list - although we've got a feeling it may not be the lovely film that this tune suggests (IMDB it if you want to check it out for yourself) ...
Genetic Bros - Uplifting
Textbook - Russia create another slamming artist. Although they're normally a bit darker than this, Genetic Bros have come out and made this banging summer tune. You cannot help but smile when you listen to this tune. Come on, it's called 'Uplifting' for pete's sake.
Fred V - Paradise
This guy gets bigger and bigger by the day. He spent the whole of the last year being overshadowed by Grafix (they go to uni together and often collaborate), but it seems he's catching up. You can definitely hear the similarities to Grafix, but sometimes I feel Fred V just does a little something that pulls you through his songs so seamlessly. A lot more of him to come in the upcoming weeks.
ps. Fred, if you ever read this, stop releasing awesome tunes on to Youtube and then don't let us buy them for ages. It's agonising.
McLean - Finally In Love ( Camo & Krooked Remix )
A bit more of a vocal track for you here. Camo & Krooked hardly ever fail to impress, and they have done it again with this excellent remix. A lot of cool stuff going on in this track, we like that.
High Contrast & Underworld - Scribble
Okay - so you all remember 'Born Slippy' and how quality that tune was. Well, Underworld have teamed up with High Contrast to create this euphoric summer anthem. We love it - and all we can say is that it's going to be getting a lot of air time in the Gamma Gamma Frat House!
That's it from me. Hope you get a chance to enjoy these properly with sunshine and a beer (wherever you are in the world). If you've got any recommendations - sound off below. Standard.
Peace
Bo
