So we've just come back from a 2 week surf in France, and yes, we can confirm that surfing and Liquid Drum and Bass are a match made in heaven. I would also like to apologise for my lack of posting recently (new house, new job, holidays, you know the drill), but don't worry there's a shed load to come. Continuing the theme of the last post (see here), we thought we'd try and find some more smooth tunes that just melt. There's also a couple of awesome albums/ singles coming out from Hospital Records and other unsigned acts over the coming month so stay tuned, and keep it chilled.

Bachelors of Science - Wicked Ways

These guys have been around for donkeys years, but they've only really started to show their heads properly over the last year (with a combination of their hard work and the increased interest in and visibility of Liquid recently). This song's a beauty, incredibly soothing reggae vocals - a great merging of different funky styles.

Ps. if you like this, they have a whole set that they put together for a Liquid promoter (PandaDnB) which you can check out here)

Bachelors of Science - Spanish Sun (Bungle Remix)

So we couldn't resist - these guys deserve more air time. Fantastic hook, great Liquid vibes.

Gradon & Janky - The Flow

You might recognise this sample (Mark Morrison - Return of the Mack if it was nagging you). It shouldn't work but it really does. Driving beat and great use of vocals.

Iridium - Hanging On (Kongra & Memro Remix)

Straight up - don't know a huge amount about Kongra. But Memro (he must have just hit 15 now...) has been ripping things up for a good year now. Another sick remix from him here.

Clue - Homesick

This guy is pretty elusive, he (I think it's just a he...) comes from the same region as Grafix and Fred V but is yet to experience the limelight that they have had of late. That's not to say that he's any less talented, so it's yet to see what the future holds for him/her/them. Anyway I have wanted to upload this tune for the last couple of months as it just has that repeatability which is so rare. A beautifully chilled song.

Danny Byrd - Moonwalker

My good god Danny Byrd is good. He is so so so so good. And, what's even better is his second album (following 'Supersized' in 2008), named 'Rave Digger' is to be released on Hospital records on October 11th. We are literally counting down the days - here's one of the promo tracks and I am not lying when I say this was on repeat for about 3 days straight. Characteristic Danny Byrd choppy samples, great beat. Really really good song - make sure you purchase the album when it comes out!

Grafix & Fred V - White Lies

Thought I'd end with a bit more a pumping tune. We love both Grafix and Fred V, we have for a while and will continue to, providing they continue to make quality energetic Liquid. They're good mates so this collaboration is something we can probably expect more of. They have something, you can't really put your finger on it but the big labels have noticed them so I think an album is probably in the pipeline (collaborative or not...). Watch this space.
Anyway kids, that's it from me. As per usual - sound off below if you have any suggestions (I've been out of the loop for a couple of weeks so any would be great!). Enjoy, and relax.

Peace

Bo
