The boys in green from Exeter have come onto our radar a few times in the last year, so we decided it was about time we checked in with them properly, especially after their stellar season winning the BUCS Southern Premiership, and their SEMLA team sitting in 3rd in Zenith West 2. University Lax is where the game is currently growing the most, and we thought we'd find out how it was rockin' down in the South West... hey they've even got surf there no?

So we suddenly realised we've had a distinct lack of pro long pole players on the site. Call it an oversight, a huge error on our behalf, or whatever, but what better way to kick off than grabbing a chat with legendary player Brett Hughes for a natter about the game?! During our chin wag, we covered such subjects as ArchLevel Lacrosse, Lacrosse The Nations, and our favourite topic of all... good flow. Right on, and read on,... the full interview is after the jump.

Recently the website VideoJug stopped off via a mid-season Hillcroft Lacrosse training session to record a series of educational training videos for their website. The site, with slogan "Get Good at Life" is a free site that features 1000's of videos with tips, answers, and instructions on how to do anything from DIY to sports, to finances... They were looking to update their content on Lacrosse, and liased with the South London Club to film some lighthearted videos aimed at beginners to the game to help new players out with their first steps into the sport.

Lacrosse players and playettes everywhere... Laxmas has arrived. With it so close, I hope all you chaps have hung up your “adrenaline” stockings, and haven’t peaked underneath that spoon shaped wrapping paper. Laxmas happens every year around this time - domestic players have hung up their boots for the Christmas break (plus five weeks of lame weather) and BUCS players are smashing University socials up and down the country.

Ever wandered what the Christmas break means to the fore runners of our sport? Or just how much Kyle Harrison or Matt Danowski got out on the lash at Uni - whilst still entertaining us with the fantastic level of lacrosse? We are of course referring to the division one NCAA players who give our sport its good name, and here at TopJLax we wanted to have a look at the more casual side of their University life. TopJLax met up with a player who has started games in the top flight of the NCAA even as a freshman – he was scouted by and played under one of the biggest names in lacrosse coaching, and who has decided to remain nameless in his first interview for the site.  Enjoy...

One of the biggest active personalities in the game, Coach Bill Daye blogs regularly about the world of lacrosse and his experiences within it. He's played NCAA ball, MLL, coaches an MLL Franchise, works for a lacrosse company,... it's safe to say this guy lives and breathes lacrosse and his voice on the game carries significant weight. TopJLax checked in with him to find out about his career and to ask a few questions about the current state of the game.

Here at TopJ we are not sl*ts. We don't jump into bed with a lacrosse star and then never call them again. As our interviewees will testify we woo them a little, have a great time, and then show them a lil' love from then on out. So here we are, back again with king of lax Kyle Harrison to ask him a few more questions...who he is, what he likes to do? (aside from tomahawking kids with d-poles- see above) and why he is better than Paul Rabil. New users you may want to refer in our archives to 'Mr Harrison to you' to check out the first time we hooked up with Kyle, old faithfuls gather around and learn a little bit more about what it means to be Mr Lacrosse.

So over the past few months followers to TopJLax might have begun to see a pattern emerging with regards to the things that we like (Lax, extreme sports, babes, music, video...). Well here at TopJLax we're really happy with ourselves today because even better than following our passions is combining our passions, and we really feel like we've gone and outdone ourselves on this one. Not only is she a laxer, and a damned fine one at that with Tewaaraton trophies, accolades, and championships overflowing from her CV, but she is also an absolute stunner. Ladies, Gentleman, and Bro's alike, meet Kristen Kjellman, of Nike Lax, who talks us through some of her career so far.

23 year old Glenn Humphreys from Rawtenstall near Blackburn has had a lacrosse stick in his hand since the age of 3 and first played U16 lacrosse at the age of 9. Last season he was the top goalscorer in the Northern Premiership, playing for Rochdale and combining for a total of 67 points that was good enough for the second highest points in the league. On the eve of the new season, TopJLax thought we'd find out what makes a player of this calibre tick.

Right, so we didn't want to keep all you "Sports Fans" waiting too long, so as promised here is part deux of the interview with TopJLax's second most favourite no.17 (Sorry Bagley but "Admin Fox", our one stop shop for all TopJAdmin is numero uno, and for y'all out there who don't know him we've been told he's a hired gun, so if you need any admin done, write to us). Back to subject,...more from Bagley and his inside look at the Worlds.

Without doubt, aside from a few minor hiccups, this months World Champs will go down as an emphatic success for everyone involved. The many fans who attended were treated to top quality lacrosse, at a great venue, and were able to interact with some of the stars of the tournament in a way that is only available to an "amateur" sport. We caught up with "Englands Matt Bagley" to find out what life was like on the other side of the fence, as a player in the Blue Division.
